Read it

  1. 01Separate the total available amount from money already spent, owed, or contractually committed.
  2. 02Keep an explicit reserve instead of pretending every future cost is already known.
  3. 03Read the room's ranked problem before allocating money to the layer that is easiest to shop for.

Test it

  1. 01Run the free move or low-cost reversible test before making the corresponding permanent purchase.
  2. 02Add freight, tax, installation, disposal, and other known landed costs when they become known; do not invent them before then.
  3. 03Recalculate after every commitment rather than treating the first budget split as fixed.

What counts as proof

The proof is a budget that can reconcile total money, known commitments, reserve, and remaining spend while the funded actions still follow the room's evidence order.

  • Budget Planner is a planning model, not a contractor estimate, market quote, tax calculation, or guarantee of final project cost.

Demonstrations are optional learning aids and the standards are the floor under the method. Neither is evidence about your room: Room Lab does not treat a video as proof, and a link never replaces a measured test.

Step 6 of 9 · working

Try it in a real room. Split what you could spend into what the room has proved it needs and what is still unknown. Fund only the proved column.
